Market Ruminations

I have to play a little catch up here as I just got back from a 2 week cruise to Alaska and Denali National park. I sort of lost track of the market because of being mostly out of touch with the internet while on the cruise portion but here is what I did take care of. My long position on US Treasuries turned south and crossed over the moving average line to the downside so I did manage to dump them while I was in Alaska. The chart is below and the break down after that.

I managed to get out right at 83 which is pretty close to a perfect sell point. In an ideal world I would have dumped them at 86 but I don't live in an ideal world. I purchased them April 8th at 77 and dumped them in June for 83 so I made 6 bucks a share in a little over 60 days.. That figure out to a gain of 7.8% in 2 months which is a lot better than money market rates. I haven't analyzed the charts to see if I should go short Treasuries but I'll let you know if I do. As you can see from the following chart the last 2 weeks have not been kind to me but I am still confident things are going to go the other way. In any event it is back to analyzing the chicken bones and charts. Totals update below.
